Open Corel DRAW.

Type the text, say "Corel". Stretch it to make it bigger. Keep it selected.

Effects > Envelope
-
You get a docker to your right side on the desktop with the envelope options.

Click Add New button on the top. Please do not click any other button at this stage.

You will find the change in the cursor.
-
Eight nodes surround the text and you can change the shape of the text using these modes.

Place the cursor on the top center node.
-
The cursor changes again.
-
Pull the node towards top.
-
The middle portion of the text is stretched like elastic.
-
Try pulling other nodes and get familiar with the basic envelope effect.

PSP 6
Floating Text on a Path
- Open a new file.
File > New Settings: Width: 400 Pixels Height: 200 Pixels
Resolution: 72 pixels/inch Background Color: White Image Type: 16.7 Million Colors
- Set your foreground color to purple.
Settings: Red: 128 Green: 0 Blue: 128
- Select the Preset Shapes tool.
- Set the tool options.
Settings: Shape Type: Ellipse Style: Stroked Line Width: 1
Antialias: Yes Create As Vector: Yes
- Draw an ellipse in the center of the canvas.
- Move the ellipse down to make room for the text.
- Select the Text tool.
- Place the pointer on the vector object. The Curved Text cursor will appear.
- Select the Text tool. Click on the image to add text. Set the tool options.
Name: Arial Size: 18
Script: Western Create As: Floating Antialias: Yes Kerning: 0 Leading: 0
Auto Kern: Yes Set the Text to the foreground color (click on the foreground color). Center (select
the Center icon) Enter Text Here: floating on a path
- Deselect the text.
Selections > Select None You will be prompted: "The current floating selection will
be defloated down to the nearest raster layer. Do you want to continue?" Click "Yes."
- Press the Delete key to delete the vector object. Your image should look like the one shown here.
- Close the image. Save your image if you like.
File> Close Note: Right-aligning the text
places the text on the right side of the image. Left-aligning the text places the text on the left side of the image.

Vector Text on a Path
- Open a new file.
File > New Settings: Width: 400 Pixels Height: 200 Pixels
Resolution: 72 pixels/inch Background Color: White Image Type: 16.7 Million Colors
- Set your foreground color to brown.
Settings: Red: 128 Green: 0 Blue: 0
- Set your background color to black.
Settings: Red: 0 Green: 0 Blue: 0
- Select the Draw tool.
Draw Tab Settings: Type: Freehand Line Style: Stroked Width:
1 Antialias: Yes Create as Vector: Yes
- Left–click and draw a line like the one shown here.
- Select the Text tool.
- Click on the vector line.
- Set the Text tool options.
Settings: Name: Arial Size: 18 Script: Western
Create As: Vector Antialias: Yes Kerning: 125 Leading: 0 Auto Kern: No
Set the Text to the background color (click on the background icon). Center (select the Center icon)
Enter Text Here: The path of life is a hilly journey.
- Deselect the vector object.
Selections > Select None
- Close the image. Save your image if you like.
File> Close

PSP 8
- Open you psp, and make sure you have tool options and layer pallette available
- Open a new file 400 x 400
- Choose the draw tool
- Under tool options chose bezier curve width 1
- Antialias and Vector CHECKED. Close Path NOT checked
- Make sure you have your fill color set to null, stroke to any color
Draw a line across the center of your page like so
- Click away from your line, above the left side
The first click decides the left side of your curve
Click above the right SIDE of your line and make it curve more.
You will see your curve take shape like so
- Now you have an editing box around your curve
- Use this to alter your curve to your liking
TEXT
- Chose the text tool
- Choose the colors you want to use for your text
- Move your mouse over the vector line, and when the cursor turns into the letter "A" with a curve under it, click.
- In the text dialog box choose size 36, center, vector, and antialias
- Type the text you want, and choose ok
CURVING THE TEXT
- Chose the object select tool
- Click on a blank area. Nothing should be selected now
- Click directly on the text, and it should be selected now
- RIGHT-CLICK on the text, and choose "Convert Text to Curves> As Single Shape"
- Click on the curved line. Click the delete key or EDIT> CLEAR
- This will make the line disappear, but you should still have the curved text
- Go to layers, and convert to raster layer
3D TEXT
- Go to effects> 3d effects>inner bevel
- Choose one you like, I chose angled
- Now go to effects>3d effects>drop shadow
- Add a shadow to your text if you like
EXTRA DESIGN
- Go to the top and choose Layers>New vector layer
- Choose the preset shapes tool
- Under tool options chose elipse, line width 1, retain style UNCHECKED vector and antialias checked
- drag you mouse to create an elipse
- Then move and deform your elipse until it fits as well as you can fit it beneath the text
- Chose the object selector
- Under tool options chose node edit
- Drag the elipse upwards until it aligns with the bottom of your text
now choose the bottom node
- Notice the arrow on this node?
Move one end up like this
Move the other arrow until you get the shape you want
- Now change this layer into a raster layer and bevel and drop shadow on it .
